Our Team

Nona S. Solowitz, CPA

Nona Solowitz began her professional career as an entrepreneur and now has come full circle. She started as a successful small business owner and went on to become a senior accountant at a large CPA firm, director of finance and administration for an internationally known film festival and executive director of the largest synagogue in the Coachella Valley.

Temple Sinai

Prior to founding Nona S. Solowitz, CPA, Nona spent six years directing all business and administrative functions at Temple Sinai, Palm Desert, CA, where she served as executive director. She was responsible for all financial activities in accordance with not-for-profit accounting standards including preparation of financial reports for internal and external use; membership development and marketing; supplier negotiations; and coordination, analyzation and maintenance of all departments' budgets. She supervised 10 full-time and 15 part-time employees.

PS Film Festival

Before taking that position, she served for five years as the director of finance and administration for the highly regarded Palm Springs International Film Festival, Palm Springs, CA. She was responsible for oversight of all financial activities and administrative functions, as well as managing employees and hundreds of volunteers.

Village Bake Shop and Deli

Earlier in her career, she was the manager/owner of a business in Palm Springs, CA, the Village Bake Shop and Deli, Inc. In addition to overseeing daily operations and full-charge bookkeeping responsibilities, she managed a staff of 15.

Michael Yeh, CPA/ABV, CFE

Michael Yeh joined Nona S. Solowitz CPA in September 2013. Previously, he spent seven years in Los Angeles specializing in family law forensic accounting.  His experience in family law and forensic accounting issues include tracing of separate property assets, business valuation, analysis of gross cash available for support, stock option apportionments, characterization and apportionment of assets, analysis of reimbursement claims, and of marital standard of living. 

A member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), California Society of Certified Public Accounts (CalCPA) and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), Yeh is accredited in business valuation through the AICPA.  He is a graduate of the University of California Los Angeles.  

When not working, Michael enjoys cooking, practicing martial arts and spending time with his wife Sonja and their 2 cats, Romeo and Mercury.

Celeste Reid, CPA

Tax Supervisor

Celeste Reid, CPA joined the Solowitz Yeh CPA firm in August 2017.   She has over 20 years of experience with areas of expertise including management of taxation, accounting and auditing services.   She has strong business operations experience and has been the Controller of a privately held company that managed the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament and an Accounting Manager of the McCallum Theatre, a nonprofit organization.    Celeste is uniquely qualified to advise our clients given her scope of experience and understanding of business operations which includes taxation, overall compliance, budgeting, and accounting. 

To give back to the Community, Celeste has served as Treasurer for the United Way of the Desert and the Palms to Pines Rotary Club.  She is actively engaged as a Board and Finance committee member of the United Way of the Desert.  In September 2017, Celeste was awarded the President’s Award from the United Way in appreciation for her contributions to the organization as Treasurer and an overall leader within the Organization.  Celeste also volunteers for the La Quinta American Youth Soccer Organization to assist with administrative functions and onsite assistance at the fields to answer questions for parents, children and coaches.

Celeste enjoys live entertainment, movies, concerts, reading and spending time with her family.

Coryn La Rue, Director of Client Relations

Coryn joined Nona S. Solowitz CPA in July 2014. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Science in Accountancy at California State University San Bernardino. She’s a huge animal lover and volunteers with a local cat rescue group.
